Warehouse Construction FAQs

How long does it take to build a warehouse in Zambia? +
A small to medium warehouse (up to 400 sqm) typically takes 8–14 weeks from breaking ground to handover, depending on the specification. Larger or more complex facilities may take 16–24 weeks. Lead time for steel fabrication and delivery is often the critical path — we plan this upfront so there are no delays on site.
Is steel frame construction better than concrete block for warehouses? +
For most warehouse applications, steel frame construction is faster, more cost-effective and allows for larger clear spans — meaning no columns in the middle of your storage area. It is also easier to extend in future. Concrete block walls can be used in combination with a steel frame for the lower sections where impact resistance is important. We advise on the best approach for your specific requirements.
Do you handle planning and permitting? +
We work from client-approved drawings and can advise on the process. For projects requiring formal planning approval from Lusaka City Council or other authorities, we assist with the documentation required but the submission is the client's responsibility or that of their appointed architect or engineer. We can recommend professionals in this space if needed.
Do you build outside Lusaka? +
Yes. We have delivered major projects in Mazabuka, Ndola, Nakonde and the Copperbelt. For out-of-town projects, transport, logistics and accommodation costs are quoted separately and agreed upfront. The Bhuku Farm Operations Complex in Mazabuka is an example of a successfully completed out-of-town multi-structure project.
Can I get a quote without a full drawing set? +
Yes. We can prepare a preliminary budget estimate based on dimensions, intended use and the specification level you describe. For a full and accurate BOQ, we do need approved drawings — but we can help you get there step by step.
